Google Alerts An Amazing ToolYou should be tracking your Online Reputation, gaining Blog Inspiration, watching for short bits of information to Tweet and Facebook, and building your Press Contact List on a Daily Basis.

The Ever-Changing Face of Facebook
You should be watching your Business Page for spam posts, growing your following, and sharing good information that you gather from your Alerts on a daily basis.
Don’t be a Twitter QuitterYou should be watching your Twitter account for Direct Messages and questions others may ask. You should be generating discussion, asking questions yourself to spark interest, and grow your following on a Weekly Basis.
Networking Synergy StrategiesEvery week you should be updating your home page and any other pages of your site with current information. If you don’t have an Innkeepers Corner on your home page, then make a space where you can add fresh Content every week. This content can be about local attractions, a fellow business you want to partner with, or just upcoming events. Fresh Content is a must for Organic Placement.
Blog Writing for SEO SuccessOnce a week you should write an interesting, search engine friendly Blog Post. This post should also be loaded to both your Facebook and Twitter Account. These posts may be crafted not only to increase your Web site page count, but they also can be written to either support an existing page on your site with good anchor text on the inbound link, or they can be written to entice another business in your area to partner with you by writing a mention of that business in the post. Blog Post snippets should also automatically populate to your site as fresh content. We recommend the home page as a good place to start.
Link Building that LastsEvery week you should be working on gaining 1 or 2 inbound links to support both your Local and Organic Placement. These links need to be crafted to include appropriate anchor text. Remember that traded and 3-way links are not as powerful as a simple inbound, unsolicited link.
Google Places – Keeping it CurrentOnce a month you should log into your Google Places account and make sure you update your coupons, your notes, your videos and images, and any other changes that may need to be adjusted. Once, a long, long time ago, you didn’t have this control. Now you do, and a monthly check-up for these listings is always good for business.
Google Analytics Primer and BeyondYou should be reviewing your unique visitors and bounce rates every month as compared to the same month last year. Also you should be reviewing top-referring sites as compared to your paid directories. This Recorded video will show you the basics of how to use Google Analytics to Track your Traffic. We will also briefly touch on other types of Tracking such as Benchmark Reporting and Booking Tracking.
Video Making Made Easy! This class will teach you how to create a video from static photography and load it to YouTube for increased online visibility.
Free Magical Map Making ToolOnce a month you should log into your Master Google Account and take the time to build a “Related” Map. It might be hiking trails, restaurants, or anything “related” to your area. You can use this technique at any time. You don’t have to set it to once a month or once a quarter. Maps are great as reference points and topics for discussion in Facebook or Twitter posts and they add a visual “WOW” to Blog posts.
No Nonsense Newsletter WritingBelieve it or not, not all your guests are using Social Media. You must keep in touch with them via a Monthly or Quarterly Newsletter. If you try sending out bulk E-Mails from your E-Mail account, you’ll get tagged as a spammer. You MUST use some type of Newsletter Tool to handle the bulk E-Mail sends. You might choose Constant Contact, I-Contact, or YMLP. To learn more about how to get Bookings from your Newsletter content, please watch this recorded video.
Making the Press Your Friend: The Art of Packaging and the Press ReleaseGetting good Press can trump all the other marketing work you do put together. And though the hub-bub of a well-written article may only last for a few days or weeks, the revenue you will generate will be well worth the effort. And the name recognition references will be there as long as the article resides online! On a smaller scale, any mentions you may receive from “Friends in the Press” are recognized by Google and help increase your brand.
